SYNC Creatives: Week 5!

We are on week 5! Our second to last week! The SYNC Creatives programme has whizzed by! 

We had a very busy first day with Toni Eastwood leading us through the process of setting up a registration with HMRC, useful resources for banking, accounting and insurance as well as understanding the responsibilities needed for your business. Next, Hrvoje Kondzic discussed how a business can receive, process and utilise feedback - a goldmine of info! We had a follow up session with Hadrien Chatelet on pitching, an opportunity for those to get advice on their pitches they’ve worked on during the course. Tomas Panek taught us how to market your online store, what digital tools to use to boost your business through advertising.  

Rachael Castell talked us through greening our businesses, why it matters and tips on how to set up and incorporate sustainable practices. Mamta Gera guided us through an introduction into project management, how to plan, monitor and control aspects of a project! We discussed actions and documents we would need for project management. We had a session with Kim Darragon about what it means to promote yourself/brand as a freelancer, with a fantastic demo of Adobe Express to elevate your online presence.

Our last day of the week we looked at how to manage and maintain our digital presence with Phie Mckenzie, reflecting on brand presence, getting over blockers and how to respond to current events in communities we want to engage with. We asked the question, what does it mean to control your gremlins with Nathalina Harrison in the next session. How to overcome self doubt and self sabotage with self confidence hacks. Our last session of the week, we looked at merch making with Lu Williams, how artists can make money with in their practice.
