About Lu Williams:

Lu Williams (they/them) is an artist based in Leigh-on-sea, Essex. They use research and community engagement to produce zines, sculpture, drawing, writing, video, events and workshops. Lu is interested in social history, accessibility, taste and class and explores this through personal experience of neurodivergence, queerness, and working class culture.

They founded Grrrl Zine Fair in 2015, which platforms women and marginalised identities through self-publishing fairs, talks, performances and workshops. In 2015 they created the Grrrl Zine Library which hosts 600+ queer and feminist zines housed at The Old Waterworks in Southend-on-Sea. They publish artists and zine makers through Grrrl In Print zine. In 2021 they co-founded Dog Ear, a place for sculptural dog toys and artist publishing.
