Supported by Foundation for Future London, the City of London and the Aberfeldy Estate Board, award-winning international street artist Rosie Woods will be working with talented local young people at creative youth space Lansbury Spotlight over Autumn half-term (21st to 25th October 2019) to deliver an exciting programme aimed to get young people involved in the process of creating street art in the borough. Developing the ideas the young people have explored and guidance from the residents of the Aberfeldy estate and surrounding areas, Rosie will create a mural which will reflect on the vibrancy and diversity of the local community through the overarching theme of fashion and industry.
This project brings together various groups of the community from young people to local residents as well as new and existing businesses. It anticipates the arrival of Poplar Works, a new fashion workspace and training centre developed in partnership by Poplar HARCA, London College of Fashion, UAL and The Trampery.
Who are Art Clubbers CIC?
Art Clubbers is a not-for-profit arts organisation. We believe everyone deserves an opportunity. We are dedicated to helping young Creatives into achieving a sustainable career within their chosen industries. By working with budding talents we aim to tap into the creativity, innovation and ambition these individuals have to hold and carry out new and exciting community projects.
It is through these projects and events we provide opportunities to take on different roles in order to develop their portfolios and grow their experiences for future prospects. With a welcoming and supportive environment we want Art Clubbers CIC to be exemplary in its accessibility to local communities and beyond –it is through projects and events we aim to engage those with little or no experience of art.
